In a nut shell: I really enjoyed this book. I've read a collection of JP books, mostly her adult series, and I was really excited to read her YA series! This book is all about Meg and her love octagon (lots of strings, lots of dilemmas) and I really enjoyed going on that journey with her! I hated like 50% of the characters, if I was supposed to or not, I still hated them from the word go, and Eric, please don't get me started on that dumb arse hole. Please. Ooo so much hate and it's only the nut shell, but hey, the book is really good, couldn't put it down.

Characters: like, like, like, hate. That's the order, I liked B.J (I know. I know. I know) I liked Anna (yep, I know) I liked Meg, didn't like her friend Keesh. I know right! But she's a little numb, and I really hated her dumb numb skull decisions. She doesn't deserve the friends she has!

Ok Alex, he's hot, yeah sure, but in not sure why people swooned so much over him. Sure, he had me smiling, sure he had me laughing, sure I've developed a little crush on the character, but no... No! No! No! Lead her on, have her the impression he wanted her, then BAM! Hey we can't be together cause I'm leaving. *sobs*

Plot: this is all romance, romance, heartbreak, shock, it has it a really. Honestly, I enjoyed it. That's all I'm going to say you'll have to read it for yourself.... 

Notes: sexy. Sexy. Sexy. This book is everything it should be. 

Good reads: Megan Miller, a freshman at Carver High and a Double Threat, the perfect combination of smart and popular. She's got the grades, she's got the friends, and she's got the connections. Freshman year should be a breeze, but it's not. How can it be when you have boys, boys and boys on the brain. And really only one in particular. Alex Aguilar...the boy of Meg's dreams. They met at a party and Meg's whole world shifted. The spark was there, there was no denying it. But could that spark lead to more? Can a Senior and Freshman really make a go of it no matter what kind of connection they share? Or will outside circumstances ruin not only Meg's Freshman year, but her chance at hooking the guy of her dreams. Being a Double Threat is supposed to make you special, but is it worth it if you don't get your crush?

In a nut shell, I wasn’t sure what this book was about when i picked it up, but i should have guessed by the four leaf clover on the front- duh. It was ok, but i've read the play an Ideal Husband, and i'm not completely sold on the similarities. Maybe that was on purpose so it isnt all the same? Idk, but if '10 things i hate about you' can do it, why not?

Characters: They're ok. I mean, i liked Trudy, she's a bit simple occasionally weak, but i dont have anything against her.

Plot: This was weak. I finished it because I hate not finishing books, and honestly I wanted more. I wanted to know more, see more, learn more, about this weird "Luck" thing. I didnt really get it. I mean, i get confused with kids books, i'm a little bit of a numb skull at times, but i didnt get it, and i'm not the only one. Oh- and the blackmailing- i wanted a more! *Apologetic crime craving smile.*

So its a light read, something just to do when you're bored, or ill and have no concentration.

In a nut shell: ............ Hummm............... So Zoey is back. This is the second book in the House Of Night series, Its ok.... maybe. Ok, I have to get this out, I'm a nice person, some one the time, but i'm going to drop the act and tell you what I really think in the calmest, nicest way I can. WHAT A SLUT. Zoey Redbird what kind of a girl has two guys on the go? Honestly?? Just because you're not having sex with them, it doesn't mean its ok- you need to go and see you're mother, gal. You need a stern talking too.

Characters: So I liked these characters. Wow, that's all i can type. My face is strictly straight right now, because i'm judging.

Plot: Ok, not horrible. Good. This plot is good. Human teen death, 'ex' boyfriend in trouble, its exciting its fun. I liked it. It was gripping, I just can't stand how 'me me me' Zoey became after she got the 'weird' mark. Like every guy is in to her bleh bleh bleh, so special.

Spoilers: (Good reads Blerb) Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird has managed to settle in at the House of Night. She's come to terms with the vast powers the vampyre goddess, Nyx, has given her, and is getting a handle on being the new Leader of the Dark Daughters. In a nut shell, I can't believe I read this book. Honestly,I have no idea why I started to read this, but I did, and shamefully, I kind of liked it.

Character: I'm going to start by saying Juliet was a fool for falling for Emerson Ray GAH.  I can't stand his character, self obsessed, self absorbed, whatever, it doesn't matter if he's trying to be a good influence on his family, but getting seriously hot and very heavy with a woman on his front porch isn't really role model. Its actually creepy, why the neighbour never complained I'll never know.

Plot: Ok, so romance. That's all this book is, and all its advertised as, so I didn't hope for anything other than what I got. It was ok, I mean, I'm not sure why all of a sudden this girl goes her entire teenage years abstaining from sex to suddenly getting down in the sand and handing it over to this bad boy she's only just met, but people change, and I guess she just decided it was time to become a slut. Sorry, Juliet, but I'm judging you dearie.
But the romance is good, I didn't buy the 'sort of breakup' but I was glad they got there happily ever after.

So this book is just wrong at times, but the rest of the other times its not wrong, its ok. Just only if you're really in to this kind of thing.

Spoilers: Juliet is in town for a short time only, and Emerson lays on her and wants her from the second he see's her. They go out on dates, and see different sides of each other, sharing stories and being there for one another, Juliet and Emerson fall for each other quickly, even though Emerson swore that would be the one thing he would never, ever do.

Notes: Not a bad story, just not my cuppa' tea, I recommend it to chick lit lovers. Oh, and FYI I didn't swoon once, impressive, or boring, I don't know.

Skellig- DA *****

In a nut shell, This book is such a great book. I was made to read it at school, and i just fell in love with it. I remember reading it in class, telling my friends to shut up because its getting interesting. I was devastated when the movie wrecked it, honestly, the book is better!! But yeah, this book is a work of genius!!!

Characters: I really liked these people, they're not to realistic, but they're fun, and I liked to hear what they had to think/say. I really hated Michael's parents though. Its was all about his new sister, his sister this, his sister that, i'm sorry son, you can't do this, you're sister will need it, whatever, whatever, whatever. So yeah, team Michael, all the way!!!!

Plot: The plot is something new. I wasn't a fan of fantasy until this, and it sparked off a love that goes deeper than my love for an exclamation mark or two!!! I think it goes a bit weak near the end, and I was sad to see Skellig go, but I loved the description. The bit about the bugs creeped me out, which is a good thing because I felt as if I was in the room with these people!

So this book is unique, doesn't have swearing on every page, and funny enough, its not teenage porn. So what is it? Great. Clean. Amazing. Yep, these words come to mind.

Spoilers: Michael and his family move to a new house, that's been empty for a very long time. Michael's mum is expecting a new baby and they have to clean up the house before it arrives. Michael explores and finds a man in the garden, a man who has more secrets than anyone.

Notes: I broke this book I read it that many times, it was just so good... maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but it was mine.

My mum is a loser- BS ****

In a nut shell, this book wasn't what I was expecting.

Characters: Great creations, perhaps i'm just too old to appreciate younger kids books that make references to dog poo and snow, maybe it was that I had to read it 8 times in one night to the kid I was baby sitting who new every word, that kind of does it for you.

Plot; yeah that was good. The kids love it, that's all that matters. Even if I did have to explain Hailstones every time we read this, and how it was possible for chips to look like lightening. It can drive a girl to madness.

But the pictures were a little funnier, maybe its my dirty mind but on page 23 I had a laugh, even if they kids had no idea what i found so funny.

Spoilers: This book is about a kid, telling the story of his mum, and her tea towel.

Notes: This is a lot like diary of a wimpy kid, not as funny, but still pretty good! Well done, Loser. (Trying not to sound rude...)

Jumping Off Swings- JK ****

In a nut shell, This book is weird, but its wonderful. I really got to know the people, and there situations, and this whole book is told by 4 different people. I enjoyed it, even if I did think... "Whoa, what even is this I'm reading right now" and "OMG THIS BOOK SO GOOD!"


Characters: Well, the four main characters are slightly odd. I didn't really like the main girl, Ellie, she wasn't open enough to the reader, and she didn't really make me think "Wow, I feel so sorry for this girl." Because I didn't, i don't know if i should have or not, but i didn't, and that made me sad.
Josh- I hated him. Pure hate for this boy. Yes, boy, he's an idiot, or as better well put- Douche. He's probably very close to an actual teenage lad, but I just hated him, all round, and that didn't help the reading any, he got what he deserved.
Caleb,  I loved him!  I actually loved him. He's sweet and kind, and does everything for anyone, he just takes everything in his stride and these people mess him about so much,  I think he needed a time out, a break, people to love him more.
Corrie, she's nice, understand, she tries to help Ellie but Ellie is just one of those people, Ellie doesn't deserve Corrie, that's all I'm going to say.

The plot, the plot, what can i say about the plot... well its good. I really liked how the story developed and the decisions these teens had to make. The ending was sad actually, really sad. I thought "Aww bless," But then again I also thought "Karma, yeah, Karma."

So this book is good, its weird, but its good. I liked it, and I think that it takes a few reads to get used to it, because of how its written.

Spoilers: Ellie and eager virgin Josh end up in the backseat of his van at a party.But their "one-time thing" is far from satisfying, and it isn't really what either one of them expected. Ellie gets pregnant, Josh is screwed, he doesn't expect his actions to have consequences. Caleb and Corinne, best friends to both teens, have to deal with them both, and themselves, because Caleb has a crush on Ellie, and has for a very long time. Ellie decides on an abortion but she doesn't go through with it, adoption is her only choice. Through this whole thing, Corrie and Caleb come together, which is sweet.

In a nut shell, I really liked this book for a lot of reason. Its a clean lit, so you can read this too younger people, or just if you want to escape the whole drama of chick lit. Its well written, but its in the POV of two separate people and I really liked them both, even if the romance left you wanting more, because there really wasn't enough!! Not to keep anyone satisfied that is, c'mon more!

The characters; I liked these people, they were fun to read about, but I did want to know more!

Plot: Often in books set in a different place the lingo isn't right, for instance, someone from Canada writing speech for an British person, that annoys me because I'm British and i DO NOT say words that are stereotypical, and usually I never had heard words that are 'British,' but this book isn't like that, this book is accurate, and it helps seems I read somewhere that the author lived in London for a while, which is where this book is set.  But end of rant, this plot is original, and swoon worthy at times, I wanted to see her love interest develop more, but it didn't, which was a little bit of a let down. Honestly, I did find myself a little lost at times, but overall, this is a very good read!!!!!!!!!

So this book is good, I know that, but I really wish more people knew about it, so shame really.

Spoilers: Mary Quinn  attended Miss Scrimshaw’s Academy for Girls which is a cover building for what is known as The Agency. But 17 year old Mary, goes undercover as  a lady’s companion to worm her way in to a rich merchant’s home to find out what happened to some missing cargo ships.

In a nut shell; This book is a really good book. Ok scratch that, this book is a very good book. I really enjoyed it. I only have once concern, one that isn't very popular- student teacher relationships.

The Characters; Ok so these characters seem like good people. Some of them are horrible, but that's on purpose. The main ones, which I will focus on, are actually a little bit flat at times, but they're nice to read about, and I think that Mead did a really good job creating them.

The plot; Original. This plot is a very original plot, by far one of the best I've read in a while. Its quick, its snappy, its slightly quirky, it makes this whole thing one very good book to read about. Honestly, I wouldn't change a thing... except maybe the teacher/ student relationship. I know, I know, I know, this book is all about that whole illegal side of romance, forbidden love, makes it all one little bit sexier, but its illegal, and creepy, ok so yeah, its a book, I understand, I'm not saying that this book shouldn't be read, i'm actually saying the opposite.

So yeah, this book is everything its supposed to be. Sexy, action packed, great.

Spoilers:Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, half human, half Vampire. Her best friend, a Moroi Vampire Princess Lissa, is in danger. Rose snuck Lissa out to the human world to protect her, but the guardians found her, bringing them both back to St. Vladimir’s Academy a school for Vampires and Dhampire's. Rose takes extra classes with her hot teacher, Dimitri, and through there time together, they fall for each other, causing a whole lot of complicated problems.

In a nut shell; I read this book, thinking that I wouldn't like it, and thinking it was another one of those 'erotica' things, but actually, this book isn't what you think. Its well written, but I wondered if the romance in it was part of the book from the beginning, because that bit is bad- sorry, but I wasn't buying it. The detective part though, that was amazing, it kept you guessing, until the end, which was a little bit of a let down.

Characters; I liked these characters, and I wasn't really sure of there intentions at some parts in this book, but I think that they're realistic, funny, and I would like to spend time with some of them- only some of them though, the others are a little bit horrible- read it if you want to know why...

The plot; Its ok, original, I wasn't really sure about the 'strawberry sticker' that sparked it all off, but looking past that, its a good plot. It kept me gripped, and wanted more! That's maybe why I was a little let down at the end, because it build up and built up to well... nothing. Other than some really bad things, that I wont even write in my blog because they're just shocking, unfortunately they happen in real life, and I read books to escape real life.

So this book is weird, but its good, which is high praise from me. I think that it would only appear to a small audience, and maybe it was just too far above my age.

Spoilers: Private Investigator Dani Ripper solves cases and problems.Riley Freeman, 17-year-old Honor student turns up at her office and asks for help. Before she turned up to a party she placed a tiny strawberry sticker you-know-where, and didn't tell anyone about it. She ends up drunk as anything, and passes out at the party, but by Monday morning, everyone knows about.

In a nut shell: This book wasn't what i expected. I wasn't sure what i expected, but this wasn't it. I had problems connecting with the 3rd person rule, and in the end I had to put it down for a while before I picked it back up again. It is a good book, and I did like it, but It was just different.

Characters; I liked the characters, i didn't really feel i knew them at the end of the book however, and that bothered me. I wanted to know more, i really did, but I didn't get more, I was sad about that! I think to connect, you have to know, and to be honest, I didn't really know much about any of the other characters, only three stood out, and I think they were six main characters.

The plot: AWESOME! I think this plot is super great, and really original, and I really wanted them the succeed and do what they did! I was just sitting there thinking how great it was what they were doing, even though they were stealing!!

Ok so this book tears me between two states, 1- this is so cool, I love what they're up to, 2- what was that I just read??

Spoilers: Katarina Bishop and her crew are approached by a man, who wants them to steal from one of the best art galleries around- the Henley. Her friend W.W.Hale (Her very rich friend) has to bring Kat back to the thief world when she thinks she's left for good because her father, is mixed up with a very influential and bad man! But Kat has help with her own society, a heist society.

In a nut shell: This book is really dirty. Like really dirty. I'm used to sexual references, I make a few too many myself, but this takes the biscuit. Its a good book, when i first got it a friend told me "This is a great book, if you can get past the language and all that," she was right.

The Characters: I really liked the characters, like all of them. They're all nice,, and really fun to read about. Honestly, I think that these people would be alright to be around and actual life rather than just in a book, because I'd really to spend time with them.

The plot: Ok, this book is whole new take on the Vampire Genre, book this series is what put me off vampire books in general. Its a good plot, its new, its fun, its exciting, its action packed, its great, but the language and the teen talk- is not. First time I read this- it was good. The second- wow, was it really this dirty? The third- eww, ok I can't read this anymore!

So I think its ok, its not really "OMG FANGIRL!" ok, but it is ok. I think it just takes a little getting used to, because really its a good book, maybe not a great read, but its a good one.

Spoilers:Zoey Redbird is marked as a vampire by a tracker, and she has to run away from her difficult life and become a student at the House Of Night, a school populated by Vampires! Zoey is blessed by Nxy herself, and she's deemed special, attracting attention to herself. She soon falls for an older drams student Eric, and they're relationship is less than easy because Eric once dated the schools bitch, Aphrodite.

In a nut shell: This wasn't a bad book, it was ok. It wasn't what i was expecting, i hoped for more, and i thought it would be all about her and her magic, and some crazy mythological plot, when really it wasn't like that all, and i was a little bit disappointed.

The characters: I liked the characters, they were a little awkward at times, and occasionally i wanted to jump in to the book and tell them to quit being so weird, but overall, the characters were believable.

The plot; I was confused. Is this a romance, or a mystery? I couldn't see past all the teen drama going on, and how much the character reminded us her mum is dead and her name.
The plot however, is original. Its good, fresh, and a good combination between mystery and crime and teen lit, which is a hard balance to do, I think Estep did a good job with that!

So i was confused, annoyed, entertained by this book. I see nothing wrong with it, i actually think its a good book, and i can;t wait to get my hands on the sequel.

Spoilers:Gwen Frost,  goes to a school for magical beings and warriors.  But  when the most popular girl in the school, Jasmine Ashton is murdered, Gwen sets out to find out who did it! On her mission she falls for the deadliest and hottest guy in the school Logan Quinn, but when he tries to kiss her she can't let him because if she does she's see his memories, and she doesn't want to see the memories of a guy who's slept with every girl in the school.

Notes: This is not for young readers- a lot of very sexual themes.

The Girl in the Converse Shoes- YG ***

In a nut shell: This book wasn't the best book ever, its more of a flash fiction, not a lot too it. Its OK, its not horrible, its just short and I think that was off putting bit.

The characters: I can't really tell you much about them, because I'm not even sure myself, but I did learn that I wasn't very fond of the main characters friends, they seemed to be a little... whats the word.... pathetic? Leaving him around, avoiding him... yep- pathetic.

The plot: There wasn't much too it, but it was an OK plot. This book could be so much longer, and if it was it might even be a 4* book, because the character sounded interesting, and the situation they were easy to relate too.

So its short, and slightly weird, but I think this book is OK! Actually OK! But there were no jokes, or anything, and no emotions just flash bang here you go.

Spoilers: A geeky guy gets kissed at a Halloween party by a mysterious person, and then he spends a page trying to figure out who it is, at the end you'll be pleased to know, he does.

Notes: So, wheres the rest? I'm curious, maybe even a little addicted.

Review in a nut shell: What can I say that's bad about this book? Erm, wheres the rest? That's all. I really loved this book from the moment I read the first book word, to the very last. This book is one of a kind. I would recommend it to anyone.

The characters: I loved these characters. I really did. They're all original, and so life like, I imaged them all, and I heard there voices, they're realistic, too realistic actually I almost tried to find their numbers to ask them why they didn't call me back after we hung out. They're not flawless either, so they're believable.

The plot, is original, its new, its exciting. I loved how the story is told, and I loved how well it all fit together.

This book is so funny, in places I found myself laughing and smiling, I felt so much of a connection to these characters and what place they were all in, I just wanted to jump in to their world and give them all a hug!

Spoilers: Cammie Morgan is a student at the Gallagher Academy- a school for spies. She's a genius who speaks several languages and knows how to kill people!! But when she meets a guy called Josh, and average guy who doesn't know a thing about the spy world, she has to sneak out of school to meet him! Cammie learns that in the end boys are like another mission, and keeping her worlds apart is a very difficult thing to do.

Notes: I am in love with this book, its amazing and on so many levels- recommended- hell yeah!!

Review in a nut shell: I wasn’t' sure about this book. When I’d finished my thoughts were "what did I just read?" This isn’t a bad book, not at all, it’s actually really good, and really well written, but it’s just one of those books that makes you think, 'what even is this?' 'Why did they do that?' 'Why did they do this?' Know what I mean?

The characters, these people are generally really strange people. I'm not sure why I couldn't connect to the lead, maybe it’s because of how horrible she really is, I was really glad she got a taste of her own medicine.

The plot is original, it’s actually a really good plot, and I’m not surprised because Summers is a really good author. But the ending was strange, even for Summers, and the occasionally it was a little boring, but i just had to end it because its gripping!

This book is fun to read, a little rushed, perhaps, but it really made me think, even if I did leave me a bit depressed and all that. This book isn’t light or funny, it’s serious and it really brings my bitchy side out. I enjoyed it!

Spoilers: Regina Afton is a social ladder climber, and a well known student at Hallowell High. Regina's best friend, is queen bee, and she's the one calling the shots. But when Regina confines in a friend about her best friends boyfriend trying to rape her, a rumor goes around the school breaking up friendships, relationships and lives. Regina ends up getting a taste of her own medicine as she's bullied by the people she once called her friends, she learns about the mistakes she made and how a victim she bullied tried to commit suicide. Regina finds a friend, one she bullied previously, Michael Haydon, a misfit. Abuse gets worst and Regina has sone tough choices to make, and along the way friendships are created and the oast is forgotten, Regina gets her second chance.

Review in a nut shell: I thought this book alright! I don't really read Chic Lit or Adult Books, but I just picked it up and started to read it shamefully. I actually liked it.

The characters are a little weird, and some of the language is a little out there, but it wasn’t what I expected, and I’m actually really glad I decided to read it.

I also found the plot to be a little strange at times, however it was gripping enough to finish, because I found myself wanted to find out more about how these people ended up and what happened to them. The romance part of this novel is a little swoon worthy. I'll admit to thinking that. But I came to the end, and I just couldn’t remember these characters names, they're not all that memorable. But I've come to a reason why this is- the romance is mind blowing. Thats why.

Spoilers: this book is from the POV of Shelly Gelson, an english teacher from Carver High. Shelly works with her bad influence best friend, Mel, and her childhood sweetheart, Chase Marino. But Chase breaks her heart by having an affair with anither teacher, Summer.
Shell is broken hearted, and finds comfort  in Matt Fuller, the rebound, the friend, the future lover. But Shell is stull in love with Chase, so Matt tells her he'll make her fall in love with him, cocky, but so very right! Heartbreak, dates, and a very funny story, its one to read!

But hey, this is a really well written book, not very classy, totally dirty, what you see is what you get, and honestly, I liked what I imagined, and I liked what I got.
